A Plastic Free Canberra

Single-use plastics are having a harmful impact on our environment, and it's time for us to do something about it.

We must start phasing out single-use plastics in the ACT. We cannot continue along the path of producing and consuming harmful single-use plastics that continue to scar us and our environment,

In October 2018, I moved a motion in the Legislative Assembly calling on the ACT Government to continue to find meaningful and significant ways to reduce single-use plastic usage in the ACT. I'm pleased that Minister Chris Steel and the ACT Government are acting on this call by releasing a discussion paper on phasing out single-use plastics.

This commitment is a significant step forward in taking real action to protect our environment, but there is a lot more that we can do.

We need to take meaningful action to reduce the amount of single-use plastic we use - and I need your help!

I am working with members of our community and our local businesses to find practical ways to reduce single-use plastics across the ACT, and I want to hear your ideas for how we can do this.
