The new Disability Advisory Council established under the Disability Inclusion Act met for the first time on Tuesday, December 10, 2025.
Kelly Brown has been appointed as the first Chair of the Council, and will lead a diverse group of advocates, experts and people with lived experience in advising the ACT government about issues and matters affecting people with disability, and their supporters.
The Council is platform to ensure the diverse experience and needs of people with disability are heard and can influence real change in Canberra.
I’m looking forward to working with the members as they advise government, progressing the important work of inclusion informed by the needs and experiences of people with a disability and those who support them.
The Disability Inclusion Bill 2024 has passed the ACT Legislative Assembly and will become law! The Bill passed on the 29th of August 2024.
